Two months before the last KAWS x Uniqlo UT drop, news about this collaboration started to leak. From then on, KAWS took to Instagram to officially announce the collaboration through various animated posts from BFFs and Companions holding up different KAWS x Uniqlo t-shirts. Shortly after the official announcement of the collaboration, KAWS took to Instagram again to announce that this would also be the last collaboration between the artist and Uniqlo. The result was a never-before-seen uproar that caused the website to crash and riots in some shopping malls in China. The collection’s Flayed Tee features a white t-shirt with an illustrated KAWS Frayed Companion figure across the chest. The artist’s signature XX is also embroidered on the sleeve of the shirt.
