JAY-Z has officially set a new RIAA record as history’s first Black male recording artist and rapper with at least 10 multi-platinum albums.

According to reports, the record was made as the RIAA certified Blueprint 3 as double platinum and The Black Album as 4x platinum, giving Hov a total of 33.5 million album sales in the United States. His other multi-platinum efforts include Manga Carta… Holy Grail, 4:44, Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life, The Blueprint and more. Outside of his solo work, JAY-Z also received a 5x platinum certification for Watch The Throne with Ye and a double platinum certification for Collision Course with Linkin Park.

Overall, JAY-Z is the second Black artist in history with a minimum of 10 multi-platinum album certifications after Mariah Carey, who has 11 solo albums.
